Monon High Bridge Trail

BaseBid: Construction of an approximately 5,115 lineal feet long by 8-ft wide multi-use asphalt trail along the centerline of the former Monon Railroad corridor between the access to Miller Park at Old Camden Road (on the west) and the existing Monon High Bridge over the Deer Creek (on the east). The project also includes trailhead access improvements to Miller Park consisting of constructing a gravel entrance drive parking lot off Old Camden Road. Also, design/build elements including: (1) refurbishment of a ±14-ft span of an existing crossing, (2) construction of a Slide Repair System to restore a failed steep slope along the north bank of the Deer Creek. Also, removal of curb and gutter and construction of entrance drive at the Bison Plaza parking lot entrance from Old State Road 25.Alternate1: Full-depth asphalt pavement of trail access, parking lot, entrance drive, and associated amenities at Bison Plaza parking lot. Alternate2: Design/build construction of structural improvements to the southwesterly abutment of the Monon High Bridge.Alternate3: Installation of ±470-ft underdrain along a portion of the north side of the proposed Base Bid trail. Also, installation of ±185-ft trenchless installation of a stormwater outfall for said underdrain.Alternate4: Root intrusion prevention measure to mitigate upheaval of proposed trail and to prevent root growth under the proposed trail.
