Introduction: Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is acquiring services in this contract to provide for wildlife habitat improvement by constructing man-made beaver dams for the purpose of catching sediment to reduce erosion and fix stream banks. These man-made beaver dams are often referred to as Beaver Dam Analogs or BDAs. Throughout the rest of this document, they will be referred to as BDAs. See figures 2-4 for a diagram of BDAs and photos of how they should look in the stream. See figure 1 for a photo of what the stream size will be and a typical reference of what project sites will look like. The identified locations on the maps are just for general reference and are not the exact locations or number of BDAs to be built. The exact number of BDAs and BDA units is outlined below. The government will identify exact locations for placement of BDAs just prior to work beginning with flagging. However, locations will be in the general area where the maps are showing. This task order includes the Contractor to furnish labor, supervision, transportation, operating supplies and incidentals. |
