Vendors are prohibited from communications regarding this RFQ with the conducting procurement unit staff, evaluation committee members, or other associated individuals EXCEPT the State of Utah Division of Purchasing procurement officer overseeing this RFQ. Wherever in this RFQ an item is defined by using a trade name, brand name, or a manufacturer and/or model number, it is intended that the words, "or equivalent" apply; and invites the submission of equivalent products by the Bidders. All other questions related to this solicitation, specifications, or bidding procedures MUST be asked in writing in SciQuest. There are no exceptions to this. Questions asked at the site visit, and subsequent answers will be recorded and posted on SciQuest so that all potential bidders can review questions and answer SITE SPECIFICS: Location and Description: It is located just upstream of Vernon Reservoir, about five miles south of Vernon, Utah. 35 BDAs in Vernon Creek. Near Vernon Reservoir. Total 35 BDAs Each BDA should take about 5 BDA units (description of BDA unit below) to span the creek. Bids should be given on a per BDA unit basis. 35 BDAs X 5 BDA units = 175 total BDA units Access to the sites: Access onto the project sites is provided by a combination of paved highways, county dirt surface roads and jeep trails. Four (4) wheel drive vehicles are recommended in and around the project area. It will be the contractor's responsibility to get the equipment to the work site. Introduction: Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is acquiring services in this contract to provide for wildlife habitat improvement by constructing man-made beaver dams for the purpose of catching sediment to reduce erosion and fix stream banks. These man-made beaver dams are often referred to as Beaver Dam Analogs or BDAs. Throughout the rest of this document, they will be referred to as BDAs. See figures 2-4 for a diagram of BDAs and photos of how they should look in the stream. See figure 1 for a photo of what the stream size will be and a typical reference of what project sites will look like. The identified locations on the maps are just for general reference and are not the exact locations or number of BDAs to be built. The exact number of BDAs and BDA units is outlined below. The government will identify exact locations for placement of BDAs just prior to work beginning with flagging. However, locations will be in the general area where the maps are showing. This task order includes the Contractor to furnish labor, supervision, transportation, operating supplies and incidentals.
