The successful bidder must provide a performance bond in the total amount of the contract prior to beginning work on the project. Pursuant to South Dakota Administrative Rules 70:07:02, Classification and Bidding Capacity Rating for Highway Contracts, and Section 2.1 of the SDDOT Standard Specifications For Road and Bridges, all bidders on highway construction projects over $250,000.00 shall be pre-qualified.
