Description The purpose of this inquiry is to determine your interest and qualifications as a possible Offeror to perform Saltstone Disposal Unit (SDU) 7 tank interior concrete protective coverings (liner and coating) and level markings installation. It is anticipated the Procurement Statement of Work will request subcontractor(s) to install concrete protective covering on the liquid-containing interior surfaces of an approximately 32 million-gallon concrete tank to act as a low level radioactive solid waste disposal unit. Additionally, the scope applies concrete protective coverings and level markings to tank roof support columns. This potential construction subcontract will be performed with labor whose wages are subject to the Davis-Bacon Act. Expected installation duration is five (5) months from start to Mechanical Completion on a 5 X 10 work week. The mission of the Saltstone Facility at SRS is to process and dispose of low level radioactive salt solution from the liquid waste processing facilities. The Saltstone Facility immobilizes low level radioactive salt solution waste by mixing it with a dry material mixture of fly ash, slag, and cement to produce a flowable grout mixture. This grout is poured into large concrete disposal units where it cures to become Saltstone, a non-hazardous material, for permanent disposal. Saltstone Disposal Unit 7 is expected to have the following attributes: -375 feet average interior diameter; 43 feet high walls. -208, 2 feet in diameter roof support columns. -Constructed to be leak free; confirmed by hydrostatic testing utilizing a dye tracer The Scope of Work Includes: -Installation of a Leak Tight Liner System; Rema Tip Top 4CN (3 mm) system. -Installation of a Chemical Resistant Coating System; Versiline (Hempel) EC-66. - SystemApplication of Level Markings (1/4-foot increments) on 20 roof support columns from 0-43 feet; - Versiline (Hempel) TL-45S System (requires contrasting colors). -Discontinuity testing of applied protective covering. The Scope Excludes: -Performance of Leak Tightness Testing; Liquid Waste Contractor will conduct, -Construction of SDU tank. -Installation of Balance of Plant infrastructure. The work will be performed to the Liquid Waste Contractor's quality program. Work will be performed in a greenfield environment and not require construction activities inside a Radiological Buffer Area (RBA).
