Description

This project consists of, but is not limited to: Replacing antiquated galvanized water piping with PVC/ polyethylene pipe at Lake Carmi State Park to provide improved hydraulics and meet current Water Supply Rule design standards. Galvanized piping in the Park has been replaced using a phased approach. This application is specifically for replacement of water supply piping to Toilet Buildings #3 and #7. Approximately 1100’ of 2-inch SDR21 PVC pipe (to serve TB #3, replacing 1-1/2 inch galvanized) and approximately 700’ of 1- inch polyethylene pipe (to serve TB #7) will be installed. The water service to TB #7 is being relocated. It will tee off the new 2-inch pipe approximately 360 feet to the north of the proposed tie in to the existing piping system at Valve Pit 1 (VP1). The 1” service will proceed west and cross a park road then proceed north of the road leading to the Park’s boat access ramp. It will tie in to the existing service line just outside the toilet building. The existing routing for piping serving TB #7 is from the field near TB #3, through some woods and areas of exposed ledge, and in several locations the pipe is above grade and in close proximity to existing sewer. The new location provides for enhanced protection. All existing galvanized piping will be cut/capped as appropriate and above grade sections will be removed. The project also includes installation of a new concrete valve/drain pit near TB #3, bituminous concrete, storm water and erosion control, turf establishment and all incidental and subsidiary work to complete the project
