Firefly Trail Southern Segment Phase 1

As of September 120, 2022, project was awarded to Lewallen Construction, awarded amount is $3,038,215.68. The work to be performed consists of the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment for the complete construction of: The multi-use trail using asphalt, concrete, and gravel, a new asphalt trailhead, asphalt/ concrete driveway connections, retaining walls, handrail, minor drainage, roadway striping and signage, concrete bridge abutments, a pre-engineered bridge, and trail amenities: benches, trash cans, bollards, striping, and signage. Contractor is responsible for any damages, to utilities and/or property. All underground utilities are to be located before any work begins. Construct a 10ft wide multi-use trail using asphalt, concrete, and gravel partially following an existing railbed adjacent to State Route 77 in the City of Maxeys, City of Woodville, Greene County, and the City of Union Point, Georgia. No submitted bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time or receipt of bids for a period of thirty (30) days. Time is of the essence in the construction of this project. The Contractor shall commence work with adequate force and equipment on a date to be specified in a written order of the County and shall complete the work within 365 consecutive calendar days from and including said NTP issuance date. Payment will be made to the contractor each calendar month based on the estimated work completed in place as prescribed by the standard specifications. Final payment of amounts withheld will not be made until the County has certified that the work has been satisfactorily completed and accepted.
