Description | Pedestrian Curb Ramp Retrofit Prices in bid should be free of all sales taxes. Pursuant to Iowa Code sections 422.42 (15) & (16), the awarded contractor will be issued a tax exemption certificate to purchase construction materials (within the state of Iowa) that will be incorporated into real property for this project tax free. For all bids over $100,000, the City of Davenport requires a Bid Bond of 5% of the bid amount. A copy of the front page of the bid bond must be attached in the "Response Attachments" tab of the bid package. Bids over $100,000, submitted without a bid bond will not be considered. For awarded bids over $100,000, the awarded contractor will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount, and said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained. Working Days - All work, including final cleanup and removal of all equipment for the bid project shall be completed before November 30, 2022. Liquidated Damages - Liquidated damages shall be $200 per day. Attention is called to the fact that the contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, creed, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, national origin or ancestry, sexual orientation, age, marital status, familial status, physical or mental disabilities or political beliefs and affiliations. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities, if it is deemed in the public interest to do so. completed before November 30, 2022 Scope of Work and Scheduling Work will consist of the retrofitting of ADA pedestrian curb ramps in conjunction with the Street Maintenance Division's neighborhood street resurfacing program. Work will include removing sections of sidewalks, curb and gutter, driveway approaches, and other surfaces as required to facilitate the installation of ADA pedestrian ramps and detectable warning panels. |
