Description

As of April 12th, 2023 this project is currently in the early planning and design stage. A general contactor has been selected. A firm timeline for construction has yet to be determined. The project consists of a natural gas liquefaction and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) export facility. The developers are planning for six liquefaction trains, each with a nominal LNG output capacity of 4.5 million metric tons per year ("mtpa"). The terminal will also have natural gas pre-treatment facilities, four full containment LNG storage tanks, and truck loading facilities. Marine facilities at the terminal will be located in or along a single pocket and will include two marine loading berths, capable of receiving and loading LNG vessels. Additional dredging will be required to create a turning basin situated adjacent to the loading berth area. The terminal will also include: a ground flare system (to safely and reliably dispose of vapor streams that occasionally may need to be vented), various structures (e.g., an administration building, a control room, a workshop, a warehouse, electrical equipment substations, and enclosures for other support infrastructure), a natural-gas-fired, power plant (to produce the Terminal's primary supply of electricity), a seawater desalinization plant (to provide the Terminal's primary freshwater supply), and a guarded entrance and other security measures.
