| Description | The sale area is located on the Talladega NF, Shoal Creek RD, approximately 26 miles due north of Heflin, AL. The sale includes 2101 gross acres, of which an estimated 285 acres are designated for cutting. The methods of cut include about 285 acres of thinning. Timber to be cut within the project area includes an estimated 11,906 TONS of Southern Yellow Pine sawtimber, 605 TONS of Hardwood sawtimber, 6,935 TONS of Softwood-Other pulpwood and 1,899 TONS of Hardwood-Other pulpwood. This Integrated Resource Stewardship Contract also includes two (2) mandatory stewardship work items. The stewardship projects consist of 35 total acres of Midstory Removal Treatment in two separate units. |
