Description

The work includes: Exterior: Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard within containment and apply a four (4) coat zinc epoxy urethane fluoropolymer system. To be a two-tone topcoat. Wet Interior: Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP10 near-white metal standard and apply a three (3) coat zinc epoxy system. Apply a polyurethane caulk to the roof lap seams. Foundation: Abrasive blast clean and apply a two (2) coat epoxy system. Mixer: Install a mechanical mixer. Electric Service, Conduit, and Wiring: Install new electrical service panel inside the building, and conduit and wiring from the building underground to the tank and up the water tower structure to the roof. The new panel and wiring is to service the aviation lights and mixer on the water tower. Note that part of the underground conduit may be reused if possible. Remove all existing abandoned conduit on the water tower. Repairs: 1) Install a riser manway. 2) Replace the riser manway gasket. 3) Install an ice shield over the sidewall manway. 4) Install a gasket on the wet interior roof hatch. 5) Install a 30 inch diameter wet interior roof hatch. 6) Weld the hole in the existing roof hatch. 7) Install a riser grate. 8) Overflow discharge modification. 9) Adjust the loose sway rods. 10) Replace the exterior leg ladder. 11) Install a roof platform. 12) Install a wet interior ladder. 13) Weld steel plates over the cathodic covers. 14) Remove the existing cathodic protection system. 15) Install a roof handrail with a painter’s railing. 16) Install bowl rigging couplings. 17) Balcony railing and access modification. 18) Seal weld stiffeners at the top of the riser. MISCELLANEOUS A. Contractor may need to remove fence or a fence section for set-up of containment perimeter. Fence to be reinstalled after work has been completed. Condition of fence to be equal to the original fence, or better. Quality for reinstallation is solely at the discretion of the Owner unless pictorial documentation is completed by the Contractor. B. The Containment design is to be sealed by a structural engineer with analysis specific to the project tank.
