Description

The Project includes the following Work: 1. Construction of a 4,000 SF pre-engineered solid core building with foam core wall panels and wood trusses. 2. Installation of two Reverse Osmosis Membrane skids, associated equipment, ancillary process piping, valves and other appurtenances. 3. Installation of chemical feed systems with storage and feed equipment. 4. Construction aerator support structure and installation of aerator. 5. Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Standby Power and SCADA equipment installation. 6. Finished office/control/laboratory room, bathroom. 7. Demolition of existing Water Treatment Plant including 2 MG ground storage tank. 8. Site work, site restoration, concrete paving, miscellaneous piping, and other miscellaneous work. 9. Installation of two (2) pre-engineered stainless steel clear-wells. 10. Installation of three (3) well pumps. 11. Standby power systems at the Water Treatment Plant. 12. Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls. 13. All other work required by the Contract Documents. Work on the improvement shall commence within 30 days after the Effective Date of the Contract, or on the day indicated in the Notice to Proceed. The Notice to Proceed will be issued upon approval of the contract and bonds by the Utility Board. The work shall be substantially completed on or before May 15, 2025, and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions on or before October 15, 2025. Failure to meet either the Substantial Completion date or Final Completion date will result in liquidated damages of $1,500.00 per calendar day All bids must be filed in the office of the City Clerk before the time herein set, on forms furnished by the Owner, and must be enclosed in a separate sealed envelope and plainly identified. Each bid shall be accompanied by bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, and in the amount of 5% of the total amount of the bid, as specified in the Bidding Documents, as security that if awarded a contract, the bidder will enter into a contract at the prices bid and furnish the required performance and payment bonds and Certificate of Insurance. Each successful Bidder will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds acceptable to the Owner on forms provided in the specifications in amounts equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price The Owner hereby reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and irregularities, and to enter into such contract or contracts as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the Utility.
