Multi-Family Solid Waste Collection Services

Questions Due Date: Dec 5th 2022, 5:00 PM EST Intent to Bid Due Date: Jan 20th 2023, 2:00 PM EST Project Description: The selected Company shall provide multi-family garbage, recycling, and bulk item collection services. The selected Company will be responsible for the weekly collection and delivery to designated disposal sites for approximately 916 multi-family communities and 119 City facilities. Garbage will be collected in dumpsters and compactors. Recyclables will be collected in 95/96-gallon sized carts, and bulk items will be collected at designated staging area(s) throughout complexes. The selected Company will also provide the 95/96-gallon-sized carts for recycling. The selected Company will be responsible for live Christmas tree collection once per year in January. The selected Company shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, tools, and supervision necessary to perform the Services. The Services will include a wide range of collection-scenarios including mobile rollout dumpsters 2yd-6yd with castors, stationary 8yd dumpsters, compactor hauling 15yd-50yd, point-to-point bulky items collection, high-rise residential collection, suburban residential collection, collection along unpaved roads, and collection on narrow roads that have bicycle lanes. Additionally, the selected Company will be expected to navigate collection sites that are under construction or affected by it and are strongly discouraged from utilizing a one-size-fits-all approach for collection vehicles. It is expected that a variety of vehicle sizes will be needed to successfully provide the Services. All prospective bidders are encouraged to survey City collection areas beforehand. The selected Company will provide accurate, easy-to-understand written communication through e-mails, pamphlets, or posters about their strategies and schedules for collection. This communication must also include concise instructions to residents about the correct methods for garbage, recycling, and bulk item preparation for collection.
