Description

The Kalamazoo Water Reclamation Plant (KWRP) is seeking interested vendors to supply polymer for use in its new centrifuge operations. KWRP processes both primary and secondary sludges and process this as a mixture in its centrifuges. Both types of sludges are thickened independently. During the Jar Testing phase vendors will determine which polymer(s) they wish to run during the Performance Test. During the Performance Testing phase the KWRP will supply an operator to run the centrifuge, sample collection and analysis, and will provide the vendor with their results. The vendor is responsible for providing a 55-gallon drum of their product, and a representative to be present during the trial. There will only be a one-to-two-week window of opportunity for each of these tests. Interested vendors are expected to participate in both phases of testing. The results of the performance testing and price of product supplied at bid time will be used to determine which polymer is most cost effective. The overall results of the polymer testing will only be supplied after the bid opening. Further information can be obtained by calling or Emailing Steve Helmer, Interim Superintendent/Senior Operations Supervisor at (269) 337-8696 or Helmers@kalamazoocity.org. Please complete and return the attached Intent to Test form. This will be used to keep you informed about testing and for bidding our 2022 polymer needs.
