Description | Work shall be completed by March 9, 2023. Provide list of any subcontractors providing workers to the project at the pre-construction meeting and provide updated list as changes occur. Contractor is responsible for obtaining any necessary permits. City permit fees will be waived but are still required. Marktplatz Pavers Scope Shall include all labor, material, equipment including all equipment rentals and any other necessary incidentals needed to complete the installation. Remove existing pavers and dispose of and replace with new concrete pavers to match ones on the half of square completed in 2022. Sand bedding should be grade 6 rock. A subsurface concrete edge is required to retain pavers in place. Rebar required. Installation of all material and workmanship shall be per the manufacturers specifications. Cover all trench drains to prevent any and all debris from entering during the duration of work and protect surfaces from over spray. Contractor is responsible for removal and proper disposal of all construction debris from jobsite. Prepare paver surface for new pavers by removing all existing pavers. Prep and install new pavers per specifications. Maintain site security throughout the project by fencing off working area. Respond and communicate promptly with Owner. Emails and phone calls should be returned no later than 2 business days later. Contractor may be called on to assist if any problem shall arise. Provide a 2-year written warranty covering against any pavers proven defective. Warranty shall cover both material and labor. Contractor will be on premises to address warranty claims within 48 hours of notification and schedule the repairs to suit the Owners schedule. Approximately 23,000 square feet to be replaced with square footage adjusted based on price per square foot. Parks staff will remove memorial pavers with names that can still be read only. All other pavers must be removed and disposed of by contractor. Map of Marktplatz will be included with these specifications. Work with Special Events Coordinator around Marktplatz event schedule. January and February are slower months. A schedule of special events will be provided at pre-bid meeting. Upon selection of a start date the contractor will work continuously and diligently to complete the work allotted. Any damage to public facilities including landscaping, structures, flat work will be the responsibility of the contractor. While under construction the contractor will maintain a safe and orderly construction site free of trash and debris. The contractor shall provide a list of three references with phone numbers. The contractor shall provide insurance covering $1 million per incident with the City named as an additional insured. The project will be awarded based on the total price of installation within the timetable provided. The successful bidder shall provide the name and phone number of a supervisor dedicated to the installation. The successful contractor shall identify the number of personnel that will be provided to perform this installation and an anticipated work schedule. After awarding the contract, work orders and/or purchase order will be issued to the contractor to complete the renovations. The City of Fredericksburg reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject bids. In case of ambiguity or lack of clearness in stating the prices in any BID, the OWNER reserves the right to determine which BIDS are the lowest and/or best, and to award the contract on this basis.
