Description The City of Dayton owns and operates a rotary kiln to recycle the residuals from City’s lime softening process. The kiln is lined with six and nine inch Rotary Kiln Bricks. The inside diameter of the kiln is 9’6” is 265’ long and reaches a maximum temperature of 2,500 degrees. Detailed Requirements A. Rotary kiln bricks shall be 70% Alumina. B. Nine (9) inch rotary kiln bricks size is 96-114. C. Six (6) inch rotary kiln bricks size is 102-114. D. Rotary kiln bricks shall be one hundred sixty (160) pound per square foot. E. Rotary kiln bricks shall not exceed specified density by more than 4% or specified thickness by more than 1/4"
