Lake Superior Urban Stormwater/Coastal Wetland Restoration Project

The Urban Stormwater portion of the project !Coleman Engineering) will direct water flow from the existing drain (Hawley Street Drain) north under Hawley Street to a new drain into the existing wetland system. The work will involve traffic management. open cut excavation, management of existing utilities, and installation of the new culverts, end section, vault, and other ancillary work. The Wetland Restoration portion of the project IGEI Design Documents) will construct a new drainnorth into the existing wetland and construction ofnew wetland adjacent to the existing wetland areas. The new drain will be excavated into the existing wetland materials and subsoil. The new wetlands will include a mixture of functional wetland types that will provide habitat for wildlife and migratory birds as well as increased nature-based recreational opportunities for the public
