Description

The Paepcke Transit Hub Project’s goal is to improve the existing bus stops, pedestrian connectivity, bike & car share infrastructure near the intersection of Garmisch St and Main St in Aspen, Colorado, so that they are functional and safe for all users. This will be achieved through adding an outbound bus shelter, installing concrete in the roadway for bus stops, place additional sidewalk, build ADA ramps that meet current code, improve pedestrian connectivity and Main St crossing, replace and improve electrical connections for the rapid flash beacons and assure proper conveyance of storm water. Increasing the sustainability of future transit options is achieved through electric vehicle stations as well as infrastructure for future electrification of the bike share program in the area. Deep and shallow utilities are to be improved below new road surface.
