Description

Removing the existing aboveground storage tanks (AST) and dispensers and replacing with larger tanks and upgraded dispensers. ? Submit cut sheets for proposed equipment components including tank fabrication approval drawings. ? Prepare and submit required AST removal and installation permit applications. ? Contractor to remove residual product from two (2) existing 3,000 gallon gasoline and diesel ASTs, product piping, dispenser, sumps and fill lines and properly degas storage tanks for safe transportation. Brunswick County will remove product from tanks to <6” prior to execution of this project. Contractor responsible for disposal of all residual petroleum and rinse water generated during tank and pipe cleaning at a permitted off-site disposal facility including providing disposal manifests for the disposition of all residual liquids. ? Contractor to disconnect product piping from existing ASTs as necessary to allow for reuse of piping entering the underground transition sump and generator copper lines for reuse with new AST system. Piping to be neatly cut and removed to allow loading of tanks by Brunswick County for off-site transport. Brunswick County shall provide trailers for off-site disposal of existing ASTs. ? Contractor to sawcut existing concrete tank pad 10’ from asphalt edge behind existing piping transition sump access manhole and remove a rear portion of existing 22’ x 18’ concrete tank pad. Contractor is responsible for any damage to existing transition sump and all piping within 2’ of ground penetration scheduled for reuse on new AST system. ? Contractor to construct new concrete tank pad as shown on drawings. Brunswick County will provide for clearing of trees and vegetation to access grounds for construction of new AST tank pad prior to execution of a contract. Contractor to excavate soils as necessary for construction of pad as specified and stockpile excess soils on-site for disposition by Brunswick County. ? Contractor to provide equipment and personnel to offload, set, and install new 5,000 gallon AST and one (1) or two (2) new 10,000 gallon ASTs, as determined by Brunswick County, on new concrete pad. Contractor to provide lump sum bids for alternate tank installation designs as specified on contract drawings. ? Contractor to install all necessary tank appurtenances including overfill prevention valves, submersible pumps, vents, clock gauges with battery powered high level alarm as shown on drawings. ? Contractor to install new 50 GPM high flow ULSD dispenser adjacent to new aboveground storage tanks as shown on drawings including hose, nozzle and high hose retriever. ? Contractor to install new 22 GPM twin product dispenser in same location as existing dispenser and connect to existing underground lines in sump, conduit, and wiring including new hoses, nozzles and high hose retrievers. ? Contractor to furnish and install all necessary piping and supports to connect new above ground piping to existing piping penetrations in concrete pad including new schedule 40 single wall black steel piping as shown on contract drawings. ? Contractor to re-connect existing copper generator tubing to new diesel AST including installation of drop pipes. ? Contractor to furnish and install electrical conduit control and power wiring from existing breaker panel in EMS building to new ASTs as shown on drawings including spare conduit(s). ? Contractor to make wiring connections for new dispenser at existing remote island including any wiring necessary to ensure functionality with existing Fuelmaster cardreader software system. ? Contractor to install concrete bumper posts in front of new ASTs and existing fueling island to protect remote spill containers and product dispensers. ? Contractor to paint all new above ground piping and fittings with Alkyd enamel coating. ? Contractor to furnish and install placards and warning signs at ASTs and dispensing areas per NC Fire and NFPA codes. ? Contractor to make up all final product piping connections and pressure testing per Brunswick County permit requirements including, without limitation, system startup. Brunswick County will provide gasoline and diesel fuel as necessary for startup testing. ? Contractor to provide all services to ensure communication and startup of new product dispensers to existing Fuelmaster card reader system. ? Contractor to provide one (1), eight (8)-hour day of training to Brunswick County for proper operation and maintenance of all new equipment.
