The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Mid-Atlantic is seeking eligible small business firms capable of performing construction services for the Reactor Servicing Ship Support, Building 2, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, Maine. The project will consist of a total interior and exterior renovation of the four story 23,670 square foot historic Building 2, including: hazardous material removal and remediation; removing the front and back side additions; removing and replacing the building’s floors and supporting structure; adding two stair towers, one with an elevator; restoring original window openings; repairing historic windows; removing the and replacing the slate roof; repointing and repairing the historic masonry walls; repairing and repainting historic trim; providing offices, a locker room, conference and break rooms, and toilet rooms; and completely overhauling the building’s mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems. Site improvements include all paving, walks, utility pads and retaining wall replacement. Utilities include electrical, fire, water, sanitary services, connections, and utility relocations.
