Eastlake Streetscape Conceptual Plan

This Next Step Project develops Streetscape Plans for Lake Avenue, the east side of First Street, and York Avenue from 124th Avenue to Birch Street. The locations of these streets are shown on Exhibit D. The intent is to provide conceptual plans that facilitate the transformation of the transportation network into a livable complete streets concept. The plans will include conceptual level costs for future implementation projects and conceptual designs that include landscaping, streetscaping, and streets and sidewalks that are ADA compliant. The vision is to create an inviting destination for revitalization and community gatherings. Thornton recently completed the construction of a plaza in Eastlake on the east side of the station as well as improvements to the west side of First Street. Parking lots on the north and south side of the plaza will be under construction soon as well as an overflow parking lot south of 124th Avenue. Importantly, the Eastlake Streetscape Conceptual Plan should provide physical connections to these areas and, where possible, utilize the engineering and urban design parameters set by these improvements in the plan.
