Description | The purpose of this solicitation is to solicit bids for a licensed electrical contractor to diagnose electrical problems and perform electrical repairs as needed. Scheduled preventive maintenance is not to be included unless the contract's Procurement Officer, the Administrator, the District Manager and/or the Chief Engineer determine that a specific work order for electrical work is needed. At the request of the District Manager the awarded contractor shall diagnose and repair the electrical systems/ components at various district harbor locations throughout Kauai as needed. This includes and is not limited to light poles, electrical boxes, boat hook up electricity pedestals, dock conduit repairs, etc. Direct all questions regarding this Solicitation, and any questions or Issues relating to the accessibility of this Solicitation (Including the appendices and exhibits to this Document, and any other document related to this Solicitation), to: Aguilera, Jeremiah. There are three (3) line items herein for the Bid Proposal based on the bidder's hourly rate: o Line-Item No. 1 is the hourly rate at which the general electrician will be billed at. o Line-Item No. 2 is the hourly rate at which the electrician Foreman/ Supervisor will be billed at. o Line-Item No. 3 is a fixed allowance in the amount of $100,000.00 to cover unforeseen project costs, conditions, materials, additional work, repairs, etc. The awarded contractor/ vendor shall be aware that the total amount of funds referenced in the proposal does not obligated State expend the funds. The assignments shall be given to the contractor on an as needed basis. Unless an emergency condition exists, the awarded contractor/ vendor shall provide a cost breakdown for all repair projects including the estimated number of workers, man hours, material costs and the equipment used (if billing for equipment) prior to the commencement of work. The State shall award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder upon the submittal of all the contract documents. The Apparent Low Bidder has 10 days to furnish the State with the required submittals including Certificate of General Liability Insurance and Performance and Labor & Material Payment Bonds (if applicable). The award of the contract will be subject to the availability of funds. A contractor that has had a contract terminated or cancelled within the past five years for non-performance shall not be qualified to bid on this contract. All invoices shall be submitted for payment to the Kauai District Office, 2494 Niumalu Road, Lihue, HI 96766. Unless terminated, the contract may be extended without re-bidding, upon mutual agreement in writing between the State and the Contractor, prior to the expiration date, for not more than one (1) additional twelve (12) month period, or parts thereof. Provided, however, the contract price for the extended period shall remain the same or lower than the initial contract price, subject to any price increase allowed by the contract. |
