2023 Asbestos Abatement Work at Henry Puffer Elementary School

Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond, certified check or cashier's check made payable to Downers Grove Grade School District #58 in an amount equal to not less than ten percent (10%) of the base bid amount shall be submitted with the bid. Bid security is required of all parties submitting a bid. The successful bidder shall, upon acceptance of their bid, be required to procure and pay for a Labor and Material Bond, and Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the bid. Bonds shall comply with all laws of the State of Illinois governing public contracts let by governmental units. In accordance with the Prevailing Wage Act, all bidders shall guarantee that not less than the prevailing wage will be paid to laborers, workers and mechanics performing work under the contract. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to negotiate contract terms with various bidders, and to waive all formalities or irregularities to any bid when such is deemed by the Board to be in the Boards best interests. Alternate 1 includes the cost to complete full containment removal and disposal of two layers of carpet and asbestos containing floor tile and mastic using mechanical means from Rooms 209, 211, 216, 305 and 306.Include cost to provide and install Masonite in corridors of Alternate 1 areas. Alternate No. 2 - Henry Puffer Elementary School 2. Alternate 2 includes the remove and dispose of upper shelving/casework as indicated on Drawing ENV-01 in the base bid work areas (Room 213, 215, 218, 220 and 222).
