Description

Description Mines is soliciting proposals from qualified firms ("Offeror" or "Contractor" or "Service Provider") for the implementation of network infrastructure equipment to address deferred maintenance and modernize an aging campus edge access architecture ("Project"). This is a Project to replace approximately 300 - 400 edge switches with about a third of those switches that are currently at the end of their support, 1400+ wireless access points with two thirds of those recently at the end of their support and provide a modern campus edge network design to incorporate a recent full campus wireless survey and a cloud first strategy over the course of three years. These improvements are intended to provide a more robust and stable network environment with a focus on customer experience and ease of management, capable of supporting Mines' evolving needs in a scalable and secure manner. Details Location United States, Colorado, Jefferson County Purchase Type Duration: 2 years Option: Up to five years Piggyback Contract No Question Acceptance Deadline 04/20/2023 03:00 PM Any protest shall be directed to procurement@mines.edu. This (RFP) is seeking to update our campus edge network to address an aging design and aging equipment. Mines would like to replace our out-of-support equipment with a (unified, if possible)solution to include wired and wireless networking. Mines would also like the ability to utilize the purposed solution for future replacements as existing network equipment goes end of life. As part of this Project, Mines would also like to address the aging design with modern concepts such as campus edge fabrics and/or Layer 3 to the edge. Mines utilizes a cloud first approach, so any proposal should also show options for cloud based as-a-service ("aaS") solutions citing the pros and cons, as well as feasibility in our environment. Mines must have the aging hardware replaced ASAP, but the entire campus edge network must be replaced. Mines would like the entire campus edge network to be replaced within three (3) years.
