Description

Work includes extension and/or relocation of dry and wet utilities as well as construction of right of way improvements between North 6th and North 9th Street in Montrose. This includes, but is not limited to, the following keytasks: A. Perform removals to clear the site for construction including, but not limited to, asphalt pavement, curb and gutter, organic soils, trees (incl. stumps and root wads), shrubs, fences, signs, misc. structures, piping, and manholes. B. Place temporary construction fencing along project work areas. C. Relocate and upsize an existing sanitary sewer trunk line (30-inch diameter) and construct associated laterals. Portions of the line construction will require bypass pumping of existing sewer flows. An excerpt with flow-measurement data from nearby sewer lines is included as Appendix A. D. Install new stormwater collection infrastructure to include inlets, piping, and manholes. E. Construct culvert crossings of the “Rice Ditch” irrigation supply ditch. F. Construct a stormwater detention pond and associated outlet structure. G. Install a waterline distribution network to include mainlines, laterals, and fire hydrants. H. Provide earthwork support (trenching, pad preparation, backfill) for power and gas installations. Coordinate the installations with respective utility owners which will provide and place materials for this task. See Section 1.10 for additional detail. I. Install communications conduits in joint trenches with power lines. J. Install casing pipes across new roadways. K. Construct an extension of North 6th Street to include retaining walls, embankment fill, curb, gutter, sidewalk, valley pans, curb ramps, base course, paving, rock-mulch landscaping, pedestrian guardrails, and signage. L. Coordinate all project surveying and stakeout. This work is to be paid directly by the City and coordinated by the contractor. M. Implement stormwater management (including preparation of a stormwater management plan and completion of a stormwater construction permit with CDPHE), traffic control (incl. traffic control plans), site security, final grading, site restoration, water management, and quality control testing as required to complete the work in accordance with the plans and specifications.
