Description

This project will include the construction of improvements to the municipal building including ADA power-assisted door operators and new doors. The particular items of work for the contract are identified more specifically in the Bid Format, Contract Specifications and Contract Documents. A nonmandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the job site. . A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the County of Schuylkill or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder naming the County of Schuylkill as oblige and acceptable surety in the amount of 10 percent of the Total Bid shall be submitted with each bid. THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price with a corporate surety approved by the Owner. No bid will be considered unless it is accompanied by the required guaranty. Money orders and personal money orders are not acceptable form of bid security. Prevailing Wage Rates established under the Davis Bacon Act will apply to thiscontract. The contract documents contain requirements addressing prevailing labor wage rates, labor standards, nondiscrimination in hiring practices, goals for minority and female participation, MBE and WBE participation and related matters. Documentation of such solicitations and commitments shall be submitted concurrently with the bid (Form DCED-CCD-286). Failure to submit this form will render the bid non-responsive and therefore result in rejection of the bid. The Contractor will be required to comply with the provisions of the Pennsylvania Human Relations ACT in providing equal employment opportunities in connection with all work. This bid is for a public works contract and bidder is therefore subject to the provisions, duties, obligations and penalties of the Public Works Employment Verification Act, 43 P.S. 167.1-167.11.
