Van Alstyne Sewer Investigation and Repair

The sewer main running beneath the riverside properties on Van Alstyne St between Elm St and Eureka Ave is experiencing severe infiltration. Due to the record high levels of the Detroit River and potential structural deterioration or damage of an unknown extent, the roughly 1,224-foot length of sewer main is entirely surcharged. The main is effectively transporting river water downstream into the combined system, which greatly reduces the system’s capacity to function properly in storm events. To effectively repair the affected sewers, the location and extent of damages to the system must be determined and corrected. The City of Wyandotte is seeking bids for the full CCTV inspection of the mains and manholes in the area of concern, and also for the lining and sealing of the mains and manholes, respectively.
