Water System Improvements

The Project consists of two (2) contracts and includes the following Work: Contract 1:The installation of approximately 157,000 linear feet of new ductile iron water main along various streets within the Village to improve system pressures and provide improved fire protection. Contract 2: Water storage tank interior cleaning, external tank cleaning and application of architectural coating, repair of the dome access hatch and replacement of the fiberglass dome vent with an aluminum vent. All bids must be accompanied by a security deposit in the amount of FIVE PERCENT (5%) of the amount of the base bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Contract Documents Any bidder may withdraw their bid at any time before the time set for the opening of the bids. No bidder may withdraw their bid within sixty (60) days after the date of opening but may withdraw it any time prior to the scheduled closing time for reception of bids. Section 746 of Title VII of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Division A - Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017) and subsequent statutes mandating domestic preference applies an American Iron and Steel requirement to this project. All iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term "iron and steel products" means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and Construction Materials. The Village of Canisteo reserves the right to waive any irregularities or informalities in or to accept or reject any or all bids.
