Bridges Over PA Turnpike

This project is for the bridge preservation of 8 bridges over the PA Turnpike in Bedford (3) and Somerset (5) Counties. Work will address advanced corrosion by replacing existing high-strength bolts at girder field splices, diaphragms, and other various connections with high strength stainless steel or hot dip galvanized steel structural bolts as indicated. Spot painting or full superstructure painting is also included to maximize the service life of these bridges. An additional layer of membrane waterproofing will be added at locations where structural bolts are unable to be replaced. Additionally, minor concrete repairs and other bridge appurtenances will be repaired as needed. Minor roadway work will be required and other miscellaneous construction, as indicated on the approved drawings included in the bid package for State Route 0096, Section 24b, In Bedford County,
