Memorial Park Central Connector Project

The Project consists of the new development of a land bridge over Memorial Drive, the installation of 96 acres of native prairie and other site amenities. The scope of work includes (i) extensive balanced excavation of 500,000 yards related to the new prairies and fill for the land bridge, (ii) the temporary relocation and re-rerouting of an approximate 6,500 linear foot segment of Memorial Drive, (iii) select demolition of existing drive, (iv) new concrete street paving for three (3) lanes each way for a new east/west Memorial Drive, (v) an approximate 1,500 linear foot underpass system (arched concrete structures in either precast or cast-in-place concrete) set at grade along new roadway, (vi) new utilities, (vii) new parking lot (approximately 83,000 square feet), (viii) site walls, (ix) trails, (x) boardwalks, (xi) foot bridges, (xii) wood framed viewing platforms and structures, (xiii) open air gathering pavilion, (xiv) reclaimed concrete paving blocks for large site stairs, and (xv) lighting for underpasses, parking lot, roadway and trails. The landscaping portion of the Project includes the seed procurement for establishment of prairie areas, temporary irrigation, soil amendments, and plantings (1,500 new trees and 15,000 new shrubs).
