Description | Each bid shall be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly stating the contractor's name and address and the project name on the exterior of the envelope entitled: STONE FACADE RESTORATION SLOATSBURG PUBLIC LIBRARY The scope of work for this project consists of the restoration of the existing stone facade and bell tower of the Sloatsburg Public Library located at 1 Liberty Rock Road, Village of Sloatsburg. The library is experiencing water intrusion and leaking into the structure in the area adjacent to and below the facade. The scope of work is to restore the stone facade and eliminate the leaking. Additionally, the scope of work includes the repair of the chimney to eliminate water intrusion and leaking into the structure at that location. The scope of work shall include all associated equipment, materials and work, including but not limited to, scaffolding or a lift to access the work site, power washing, full investigation to determine the source of leaking, grinding of unsound joints, full repair of mortar joints, roof and flashing repairs/replacement as necessary for a complete in place, water tight project. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check, or bid bond executed by a surety company, in the amount of not less than 10 percent of the total amount of the proposal, conditioned that if the proposal is accepted, the bidder will enter into a contract for the work and that he will execute such further security as may be required for the faithful performance of the Contract. All bids must meet the requirements of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York and all other applicable federal, state, and local statutes. Prevailing wage rates shall be paid. The lowest qualified bidder meeting the requirements of the Contract Documents will be awarded the bid. The Village Board reserves the right to accept or reject any or all portions of the proposal, and to advertise for same, should it be in the best interests of the Village. The Village also reserves the right to reject any proposal that is informal or waive any informality in the bidding documents. |
