Description

The work of this project generally involves the Installation of a Water Main on Centerville Road (Route 117) in the City of Warwick, RI which will serve the Kent County Water Authority. This project involves installing pipelines consisting of approximately 1,700 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron pipe. Also included are installation of service connections, connections to existing mains, hydrants, fittings, and appurtenances. Pavement restoration is also incorporated into this project. All work under this Contract is subject to the prevailing wage rates of the State of Rhode Island, which are available online Failure to comply with the requirements of this paragraph may be deemed to render a proposal non-responsive. Each Bid shall be submitted (in duplicate) in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and be accompanied by a Bid Security in the designated form in the amount of 5-percent (5%) of the Bid. Bid Security will be refunded to all bidders following award and execution of the contract. No Bidder may withdraw their Bid for a period of ninety (90) days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays, after the date of the opening of the Bids. The successful Bidder must furnish a 100-percent (100%) Construction Performance Bond and a 100-percent (100%) Construction Payment Bond with a Rhode Island licensed surety company acceptable to the Owner within ten (10) days of Notice of Award. The successful Bidder must commence work on March 4, 2024 and to fully complete the project by May 31, 2024. Complete instructions for filing Bids are included in the Instructions to Bidders. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids if deemed to be in its best interest. No Bidder will be considered, nor Bid accepted, if the Bidder is indebted to Kent County Water Authority for any unresolved issues regarding unpaid invoices issued by the KCWA or services and materials owed to the KCWA. The offices of the Kent County Water Authority are handicapped accessible. Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired must contact the offices of the Kent County Water Authority seventy-two (72) hours before the meeting at (401) 821-9300 (Telecommunications device for the hearing impaired available).
