Description

As of Sept 7 the project is set to be awarded on Oct 12 Board meeting.. The Project includes the following Work: Work shall mean, collectively: Installation of a new canal turnout in the Wellton Mohawk Irrigation District main canal, 50-ft of 18-inch AWWA C900 PVC pipe, 2,745 LF of 8-inch AWWA C900 PVC pipe, 21,974 LF of 6-inch AWWA C900 PVC pipe, a 65 gpm raw water pump station, a 100 gpm back-up water supply well, a 65 gpm water treatment facility, a 150,000 gallon finished water concrete storage tank, a 100 gpm finished water pump and a 1000 gpm fire water pump station, a 5000-gallon hydropneumatic tank, 190 1-inch water service connections with box and meter, 60 1-inch water service connections with box only, 14 2-inch water service connections with box and meter, miscellaneous water supply equipment. The Work will be substantially complete within 390 working days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run as provided in Paragraph 4.01 of the General Conditions, and completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions within 410 working days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run. Substantial Completion: Contractor shall pay Owner $1,420 for each day that expires after the time (as duly adjusted pursuant to the Contract) specified above for Substantial Completion, until the Work is substantially complete Completion of Remaining Work: After Substantial Completion, if Contractor shall neglect, refuse, or fail to complete the remaining Work within the Contract Times (as duly adjusted pursuant to the Contract) for completion and readiness for final payment, Contractor shall pay Owner $1,420 for each day that expires after such time until the Work is completed and ready for final payment. The required Payment and Performance Bonds and the Certificate or Certificates of Insurance to Rachel Stallworth, Improvement District Coordinator at, 4343 S. Avenue 5 1/2 E, Yuma, AZ 85365, telephone 928- 341-2500. If objections are filed, the contract must be executed and the Bonds and Insurance Certificate(s) delivered to the Clerk of the Governing Board within five days of the winning bidder's receipt of the District notice overruling the objections. The District reserves the right to rescind the award of the Contract and to terminate the Contract (even after its execution) or reduce the Scope of the Work by excluding from the Contract some or all of the Work without incurring expenses or liabilities for such termination, rescission or reduction if: (i) for any reason the District is unable to sell the Bonds to RUS, (ii) the Board of the District upholds any objection to the award of the Contract which requires either abandonment of the Work or rescission of the award of the Contract, or (iii) the District fails to obtain all rights-of-way or public utility easements necessary for the construction of the Work
