Design - Evaluation, Design, Architectural and Engineering Services for Pierce County Corrections Facility Security and Safety Electronics

The Pierce County Jails require an evaluation of the existing security control system and its integration with communication and life safety systems for both Jail buildings (02 Jail & Main Jail). This evaluation shall include the observation and collection of information of the existing security control system, and its operating procedures within the Jails from County Staff, Sheriffs office, and Correctional Staff. The selected firm will then provide a report of the evaluation findings, including specific recommendations for the upgrade and/or replacement of the existing security, safety, and communication systems. These recommendations shall include the following: Pierce County Jail operation procedures. Specific system brands and component names of proven and reliable technology. Complete product information and specifications associated with the recommended replacements or upgraded components or systems. Incorporation of industry best practices. Phase 1: Pre-Design/ Analysis & Evaluation to be complete within two (2) months from executed contract. Phase 2: Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Bidding and Construction Administration are dependent on Pierce County written approval. Contract duration depends on option chosen but is anticipated to end August 1st, 2023.
