Description

REQUEST FOR SOURCES SOUGHT (NOT A NOTICE OF SOLICITATION) The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Detroit District is seeking information on potential sources and feedback on the product requirements as identified under the project description paragraph. This Sources Sought Notice will be utilized by USACE, Detroit District to establish a list of sources interested in the Monroe Harbor Advanced Maintenance Dredging project. Interested sources are encouraged to respond. The results from this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement if a requirement materializes. Based on the responses, this requirement may be set aside for small businesses (in full or in part) or procured through full and open competition. All small business set-aside categories will be considered. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted or acknowledged, and no feedback or evaluations will be provided to companies regarding submissions. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Background information on potential project: The project is for Monroe Harbor Advanced Maintenance Dredging with Confined Disposal Facility (CDF) placement. Monroe Harbor, Michigan is located on the lower reach of the River Raisin, which empties into Lake Erie and is 36 miles south of Detroit, Michigan. Mobilize dredge to Monroe Harbor and dredge in areas of the turning basin to depths up to 20 feet below LWD plus overdepth and areas of the upstream end of the federal navigation channel to depths up to 23 feet below LWD plus overdepth. LWD is at Elev. 569.2. The dredge material is anticipated to range from soft silt with some clay to hard silty clay with sand and gravel. Presence of cobbles, boulders, rock fragments, wood, and other debris is also anticipated. Placement of dredged material will be in Pointe Mouillee CDF. Demobilize when dredging work is complete.
