Description | proposals for the supply and installation of an AMI Water Meter System. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Proposal Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated electronically General water meter requirements: 1. Water meters that provide integrated, time interval data not less than hourly. 2. Water meters that replace existing water meters and increase the accuracy of the reads. associated with the system through use of modern ultrasonic technology-based products. 3. Water meters that improve the efficiency of the water system, lower operating costs, and aid in customer service. 4. Water meters that use an Exclusive/Primary Licensed FCC Frequency, or equivalent, to enable robust operation, high-capacity bandwidth, interoperability with current and future applications and future cellular network upgrades. 5. Water meters or RF solutions that provide leak detection on the customer side of the meter. 6. The system must be capable of operating in both AMI fixed network and AMR drive-by as a back-up system should the AMI infrastructure become inoperable WITHOUT physically changing out any part of the meter or physical manipulation to the meter. 7. Water meters that only offer AMR functionality (drive-by reading) will not be considered. Water meters that must change a Radio Signal Device, Meter Transmitting Unit (MTU), or similar component to switch from AMI to AMR will not be considered 8. The meter must not have registers that need replacement or utilize endpoints to be affixed to meter. For all meters 5/8" to 12": 1. All cold-water meters must use solid state measuring technology with no moving parts. 2. All sensors and electronics shall be designed so that no direct exposure is made with water. 3. Meters shall be produced in an ISO 9001C facility. 4. All meters shall be manufactured from either composite or stainless steel, brass meters will not be considered. 5. All sensors shall be completely separated from the fluid, and coatings and water quality shall not affect measurement accuracy or warranty. For meters 5/8" and 1": 1. The 5/8" and 1" meters shall have the ability to listen for leaks on the upstream side of the meter. 2. Each meter shall include all components necessary to listen for noise levels on service and distribution lines for the purpose of locating potential leaks in the piping. The acoustic leak detection sensor and electronics must be integral to the meter, requiring no external hardware or wired connections. 3. The meter shall collect noise data from the water column. 4. All meters must have a minimum operating working pressure of 250 PSI. |
