Description | The intent of this Invitation to seek fixed price lump sum bids for Pre-Renovation Abatement and Disposition of Hazardous Building Materials in 227 Middle Street, an historic masonry building. Any further questions shall be submitted in writing through BidSync no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22nd. Responses to the questions will be posted on BidSync no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, August 25th. Include with the submitted bid, a ten(10%)percent bid bond or a certified check made payable to the City of Bridgeport with its bid submission if the bid is $50,000.00 or more, except for bids from MBE's, for which a bid bond is required on bids that are $100,000 or more. The successful bidder, prior to permission to proceed, will be required to post a payment bond of 100% of the contract price if the contract price is in excess of $100,000, and a performance bond, for 100% of the contract price, if the bid is $50,000.00 Reject any and all bids in whole or in part or to accept any bid, in its sole discretion if doing so is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Bridgeport. Reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to decline to make an award. The Contractor acknowledges that it is aware that Hazardous Substances are present on and in the property located at 227 Middle Street, Bridgeport, Connecticut (the "Property") as set forth in the specifications for the work contained in the statement of work, General Conditions, Supplemental General Conditions, and other Contract Documents (collectively, the "Scope of Work") prepared by Eagle Environmental, Inc. ("Eagle") incorporated by reference herein with full legal force and effect that require remediation pursuant to all Environmental Laws and this Contract (the "Remediation"). The City and the Contractor both acknowledge that Remediation shall require City and Contractor coordination and cooperation between themselves and between representatives of Eagle. The City's representative at the inception of this Agreement shall be Frank Croke (the "City Representative"). (b) The City has engaged Eagle to produce the Scope of Work. The Contractor will undertake and complete the Scope of Work in accordance with the Contract Documents. The City Representative shall monitor the Remediation and approve the Contractor's invoices for payment based on the schedule of values (the "Schedule of Values") attached hereto and made a part hereof. In the event of a dispute between the City, the Contractor and Eagle as to the suitability of all or part of any invoice for payment, Eagle's decision shall control. Work that Eagle deems to be incomplete, unacceptable or otherwise inconsistent with the requirements of the Contract Documents shall be rectified in accordance with Eagle's direction. Any undisputed portion of the work set forth in an invoice shall be paid and the disputed portion of such invoice shall be paid upon the Contractor's correction of the work. |
