| Description | The projects consist of the implementation of safety and operational improvements at the intersection of Canton Road and Shallowford Road/Highland Terrace. The project will construct southbound dual left-turn lanes onto southbound Canton Road with an additional eastbound receiving lane along Shallowford Road. The project will also extend the dual eastbound receiving lanes on Shallowford Road to the intersection with the old Shallowford Road stub, followed by a taper to a single lane west of the railroad crossing. The project will also construct westbound dual left-turn lanes on Shallowford Road and an exclusive westbound right-turn lane. The existing westbound through lane will become a shared through right lane. A new exclusive northbound right-turn lane on Canton Road will be constructed and a raised median along the Canton Road approaches and sidewalks will also be added. |
