Description | The Division of Facilities Development, hereinafter termed DFD, hereby announces that it is advertising for bids from certified contractors for the above project. All potential bidders must become certified by DOA prior to submitting bids on state construction projects with budgets over $50,000. All bids received from contractors who are not certified will be rejected. These changes take effect January 1, 2014 Hand delivery to the drop box labeled SEALED BIDS ONLY in front of the State of Wisconsin Administration Building located at 101 East Wilson Street, Madison, Wisconsin 53703. General Project Description: This project involves the reconstruction of the upper courses of the southeast chimney with new sandstone masonry to match the original unweathered shapes, profiles, and dimensions of the original Dunnville Sandstone masonry. The project scope includes the following work: removal and salvaging the existing sandstone masonry, new sandstone masonry, carpentry chimney cap support with rigid insulation and stainless27 steel angle attachment, lead coated copper cap with soldered seams and WeatherCap System. General Site Information: The repair work is limited to the upper courses of the southeast chimney at the University of Wisconsin - Stout Louis Smith Tainter House, 320 South Broadway Street. Refer to drawing sheet A001 - Site Utilization Plan & Aerial Photo & Site Notes for details regarding the project location and site utilization. The 2017-2019 Wisconsin State Budget (2017 Wisconsin Act 59) repealed Wisconsin's prevailing wage laws Effective September 23, 2017, state prevailing wage requirements on state building projects no longer apply These changes take effect for projects advertised for bid after September 23, 2017. This change does not affect the Federal Davis Bacon Act requirements. The successful Contractor must agree to commence work on or after a date to be specified in a written "Notice to Proceed" and to fully complete all work within 173 consecutive calendar days thereafter. Completion time will be converted to a specific date at the time the "Notice to Proceed" is issued. Refer also to Conditions of the Contract for Simplified Projects, Article entitled "Time for Completion". The project construction start is anticipated to begin in April 2023 with submittals and stone procurement, with on-site construction beginning in May 2023 and final completion in September 2023. |
