Description

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services (CMSWS) implements educational campaigns to raise awareness of the effects of individual behavior on surface water quality, volunteer opportunities to protect local waterways, flood safety, and storm drainage infrastructure throughout the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. More specifically, these educational campaigns aim to: 1. Increase public awareness of surface water quality issues and how to report pollution problems. 2. Increase public action/volunteer engagement to reduce surface water pollution 3. Increase public awareness of flood risks and flood safety 4. Increase public awareness of storm drainage infrastructure that carries rainwater to streams and the importance of improving infrastructure to support a thriving city.
