Description | As of November 22, 2022, a general contractor has been awarded, however, a timeline for construction has not been established as the architect is still finalizing drawings. The total estimated construction cost for the Base Bid Work for the Project for which bids are being solicited at this time is $150,000 The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. Centennial Plaza project site is located in downtown Canton, OH at 300 Market Ave. N. The specific site within the park is located on the amphitheater stage in front of the concrete stage wall and underneath the pavilion structure and video board. 2. Site work consists of the installation of a fabric shade canopy on an existing brick paver stage. The shade structure contractor shall be responsible for the final design, engineering, fabrication and installation of said structure. 3. Existing paver system consists of a 2-1/2 inch thick clay brick paver set on a 1 inch sand setting bed over a 4 inch concrete sub base. Contractor will need to remove, store and reinstall pavers once the shade structure metal posts are appropriately set and in place. Questions regarding plans and specifications should be addressed in writing to Purchasing Department, at purchasing@cantonohio.gov. All bids must include a Bid Guaranty, as described in the Instructions to Bidders. Prevailing wage rates apply. All bidders will be required to comply with the City Contract Compliance Program regarding equal employment opportunity. After submission and opening, no bidder may withdraw its bid within 60 days after the opening; the City reserves the right to waive irregularities, reject any or all bids, and conduct necessary investigations to determine bidder responsibility. *Information regarding subcontractor bidding has not been disclosed to the content management team at this time.
