Description | In general the work consists of: the demolition of Equipment Storage Building #3, an approximate 4,500-square-foot masonry/wood framed building, and Equipment Storage Building #4, an approximate 9,100-square-foot masonry/concrete building that are part of the Milwaukee Readiness Center campus. The buildings are currently vacant. This project will abate hazardous materials, and demolish the buildings and adjacent concrete and turf areas. Utilities will be properly terminated. Foundations will be completely removed and the building footprints will be backfilled. Concrete sidewalks and retaining walls will be restored and extended on the east side of Equipment Storage Building #4 following demolition. Area will be graded and restored to a parking area. Demolished concrete & masonry building components will be crushed and reused on site as fill and parking surface material where possible. The 2017-2019 Wisconsin State Budget (2017 Wisconsin Act 59) repealed Wisconsin's prevailing wage laws. Effective September 23, 2017, state prevailing wage requirements on state building projects no longer apply. These changes take effect for projects advertised for bid after September 23, 2017. This change does not affect the Federal Davis Bacon Act requirements. The walkthrough is scheduled for the purpose of acquainting prospective bidders with the site conditions and special requirements of the project. All bidders are encouraged to attend. A representative of the A/E's office will be available to take questions for answer in addendum. Prospective bidders are asked to familiarize themselves with the project documents and requirements prior to the tour. Nearby street parking is available. Failure to visit the site or failure to examine any and all Contract Documents will in no way relieve, the successful contractor from necessity of furnishing any materials or equipment, or performing, any work, that may be required to complete the work in accordance with the Contract Documents |
