Description | The scope of work includes Pavement and Bridge Rehabilitation work along Fee Fee Road from Westport Plaza Drive to Schuetz Road. Pavement rehabilitation work includes select removal/replacement of concrete pavement sections, asphalt mill & overlay, and pavement surfacing/texturing of concrete pavement sections. Pavement will be re-striped. All roadway work is contained between the existing curbs. Bridge rehabilitation work includes removal of the existing silica fume concrete overlay, partial and full-depth repairs to the solid slab superstructure, removal and repair of deteriorated sections of raised concrete sidewalks and barriers, and placement of a latex modified concrete wearing surface. All labor used in the construction of this public improvement shall be paid a wage no less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages of work of a similar character in this locality as established by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (Federal Wage Rate), or state wage rate, whichever is higher. A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. DBE Contract Goal: bidders to certify that the bidder is familiar with the DBE Program Requirements in this contract. The contract DBE goal for the amount of work to be awarded is 15% of the total project price with Zero Trainee Slots for Zero hours. The City of Maryland Heights hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or national origin in consideration for an award. The successful bidder shall comply with the requirements of RSMo 292.675. The requirements include on-site employees to complete the ten (10) hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Construction Safety Program, which includes a course in construction safety and health approved by OSHA or a similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations within sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project. Second-tier subcontracting will not be permitted on this project. The proposer states that it will ensure that subcontractors do not subcontract any portion of the work. The City of Maryland Heights reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and to waive any irregularities in the best interest of the City. A Bid may not be modified, withdrawn or cancelled by the bidder within sixty (60) days following the time and date designated for the receipt of bids, and each bidder so agrees in submitting his bid. The project will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder. There will not be a pre bid meeting for this project. |
