Fire Station Support Facility

The project includes an Apparatus Bay for three small fire trucks; living quarters with five Dorm Rooms (the area where the firemen sleep, shower, eat and relax) and the Administration area for basic operations, communications, and training. This project will provide emergency back-up power for the Apparatus Bay lighting and doors, communication functions, and all associated equipment. Support facilities include privately owned vehicle parking, sidewalks, lighting and landscaping. Air Conditioning is required. Facilities will be designed to a minimum life of 40 years in accordance with DoD's Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC 1-200-02) including energy efficiencies, building envelope and integrated building systems performance. The project site borders a Historic neighborhood so Colorado State Historic Preservation Office consulting will be required. Additionally, adequate sanitary sewer is not available in the area so a septic drain field system will be required, which can most-likely be permitted at the county level. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after Notice to Proceed (NTP) and complete the work in 365 days after receipt of NTP. Provisions will be included for Liquidated Damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and Payment Bonds will be required.
