Military Ocean Terminal Concord (MOTCO) Waterfront Water Distribution Project

Waterfront Water Distribution project is to place 5,000 LF of 20-in diameter water pipe. The alignment will consist of going through commercial (UP & BNSF) and government-owned railroad tracks and roads where jack-n-bore must be used to cross under them without interrupting the road and railroad operations. The Contractor must avoid all existing utility lines but still maintain the minimum 3 ft of cover required. For the jack-n-bore pits, the Contractor must sometimes dig as deep as 50 ft to offset the elevation change. Also, the Contractor must connect to a publicly owned pipe (Contra Costa Water District) and a government-owned pipe. As part of the alignment, the Contractor is expected to install a backflow prevention device (BFPD), reducing pressure valve (RPV), air-relief valves, vaults, and numerous gate valves. Lastly, the Contractor must replace fences and construct access roads to get to vaults.
