Main Terminal Building MEP Upgrades - General

The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, power for all mechanical equipment, power for all proposed plumbing equipment, replacement of existing Lobby air handler unit, installation of new 800 kVA generator and distribution of service to the Main Terminal Building and Maintenance Building generator work. All work will be inside the Main Terminal Building and Maintenance Building shed. All bids must include apprentice documents in a separate envelope. Bids received without the apprenticeship documents will be considered non-responsive and will be rejected. Bid openings will no longer be live streamed. Questions will be welcomed and answered through an addendum. The fee shall be in the form of a cashiers or certified check made payable to the Town of Islip. No other forms of payment will be accepted. No bid will be accepted by email or facsimile. Each bid must be accompanied by a Cashiers Check, Certified Check, or Bid Bond payable to the Town of Islip, in an amount equal to terLmcej.C)-A 10% of the Bid Price. The successful bidder is required to furnish satisfactory Payment and Performance Bonds for the full amount of the Contract. The Town may make such investigations as deemed necessary to determine the ability of the bidder to perform the work. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of one hundred and twenty (120) days after being publicly opened and read. In the event bids are rejected or no bids are received, the Department of Purchasing is authorized to re-advertise for bids. Bidders must be licensed by the State of New York, Bidders shall make a good faith effort to obtain Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation of eight and seventy-four hundredths percent (8.74%), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) participation is twelve (12%) and Women Business Enterprise (WBE) participation is eighteen (18%) of the dollar value of the Contract in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DBE Program, 49 CFR 26, and the goals established by the Airport. Please note that the MBE and WBE goals pertain to the generator work only. The Town reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids in whole or in part and to waive any informality in any or all bids, and to accept the bid or part thereof which it deems most favorable to the Town.
