Professional Services for Alley Rehabilitation PM10 Dust Emissions

This project mitigates dust emissions by replacing the top 4” to 6” of dirt and gravel and older aggregate base course with crushed asphalt milling materials. The asphalt millings are from milled roadway surface that will normally be discarded as waste. This project will recycle the asphalt millings into the alleyways to create a more dust free driving surface 15.3 miles of alleys. The alleys are used by homeowners, utility companies, and garbage trucks to access backyards, utility boxes, and garbage cans on a daily basis. This project will improve the alleyway surface, improve the air quality and recycle material that would have been discarded from other street resurfacing projects. The project delivery method for the construction work is lowest responsible bidder. The project is located in four neighborhoods within the City of Chandler limits: 1. Segment 1 includes approximately 5.2 miles of unpaved alleys located within the Woodglen neighborhood Northeast corner of Dobson Road and West Elliot Road. 2. Segment 2 includes approximately 6.4 miles of unpaved alleys located within the Sunridge/Mission Valley / New Horizons / Espanada neighborhood Northeast of Alma School Rd and W. Elliot Road. 3. Segment 3 includes approximately 2.8 miles of unpaved alleys located within Suggs Corona Village neighborhood NE of Rural Road and Ray Road. 4. Segment 4 includes approximately 0.90 miles of unpaved alleys located within the Pepperwood neighborhood N ortheast of McClintock Road and West Chandler Boulevard.
