Solid Waste, Environmental and Consulting Engineering Services

Successful engineering consultants will assist the County in planning, designing, siting, permitting, constructing, and monitoring various solid waste management facilities required for the collection, management, transport and disposal of solid waste. Successful engineering consultants will also assist the County with collection and disposal cost evaluations and will recommend the most environmentally and economically feasible system to the County. Dependent upon the nature of the services rendered, it will be required that Consultant prepare certain deliverables to be in industry standard electronic and printed formats, including but not limited to, reports, plans, permit applications, studies, photographs, as well as attendance at meetings and presentations to the Board of County Commissioners, or other groups to be designated. All deliverables become the property of Lake County. Anticipated projects may include solid waste management facility sittings, landfill expansion design, landfill closures, short and long range planning, leachate management, landfill gas management, storm water management, ground water monitoring and management, permitting of solid waste facilities and operations, solid waste closure and long term care funding assurance and other financial analyses, , and other engineering and professional services in support of the Lake County Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Division.
