Description | Prevailing Wages Yes Submit all questions regarding this RFQ in writing to Brandie Bronston Houpe at bbronston@columbus.k12.oh.us with the project number included in the subject line (no phone calls please). Questions will be answered and posted to the district web page at portal on a regular basis until one week before the response deadline. The name of the party submitting a question will not be included on the Q&A document. The project will consist of Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning upgrades at the following locations: Columbus Alternative High School - 2632 McGuffey Rd. Hubbard Elementary School - 104 W. Hubbard Ave. Columbus Alternative High School is a 110,763 square foot facility originally constructed in 1926 with additions constructed in 1928, 1963 and 1974. Hubbard Elementary School is a 42,811 square foot facility originally constructed in 1896 with one addition constructed in 1975. The HVAC infrastructure in these facilities is well beyond its anticipated useful life and utilizes pneumatic controls. The facilities are largely non-air conditioned at this time. It is anticipated that at the completion of this project, all facilities will have completely new or updated HVAC systems including central airconditioning throughout. Funding for the projects will come from the district's Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief II Fund (ESSER II), to address the impact of COVID-19 on elementary and secondary schools. These funds allow for repairing and improving school facilities to reduce risk of virus transmission and exposure to environmental health hazards, and to support student health needs. As is the case with all construction contracts using laborers and mechanics financed by federal education funds, this contract will require compliance with Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements, and construction contracts must include language that all contractors or subcontractors must pay wages that are not less than those established for the locality of the project.
