Moose Creek Bridge Redecking

The Matanuska-Susitna Borough is requesting quotes from qualified contractors to re-deck the Moose Creek Bridge located in Trapper Creek, Alaska. See the Request for Quote (RFQ) for more detail. This projects purpose is to re-deck Moose Creek Bridge with 2-inch by 10-inch by 16-foot rough cut lumber. The lumber/decking material for project will be supplied by the Borough. The selected contractor must pick-up bridge decking material from the Operations & Maintenance Division located at: 1420 S. Industrial way in Palmer and expedite to project location. Bridge decking shall be installed with 5/16-inch by 4-inch exterior structural screws. Decking shall be screwed every 16-inches with two screws parallel from one another. Existing decking on Moose Creek Bridge shall be removed by contractor. Contractor shall be responsible for the proper disposal of removed material. The terms and conditions should be reviewed and understood before preparing a quotation. The quotation shall be the best net price, FOB destination, to include all delivery charges, but exclude applicable taxes. Delivery schedule and discount for early payment shall be indicated in the spaces provided below. Quote will be awarded to the vendor with the lowest total quote price. Quotes over $25,000 will not be accepted . All construction shall be completed in accordance with the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Standard Specifications for Highway Construction (SSHC) 2020 Edition. Project specific special provisions are provided in the following sections. The requirements contained in these specifications and special provisions are hereby made a part of this solicitation and resultant contract. o This bridge is located on Oilwell Rd, Trapper Creek, Alaska. The project may be accessed by driving West of Trapper Creek on Petersville Rd for approximately 5 miles. Bridge is located at mile 4.5 Oilwell Rd. See Attachment for project location. o Contractor shall provide all resources (not including Borough supplied decking material) to complete this project without any adjustments in the original quote amount or contract time. o Work Zone speed limit: Limit speed of vehicles associated with construction to 20 miles per hour within project limits. o Work shall be completed in one continuous timeframe. Project completion shall be achieved by 10/29/2022
