Description

BP 07b: roofing BP 09a: gypsum board assemblies and light gage framing BP 21a: fire protection BP 22a: plumbing and vapor mitigation BP 23a: hvac (mechanical) BP 26a: electrical and fire alarm BP 26A: ELECTRICAL AND FIRE ALARM Fuquay Varina Middle School Replacement is a new 242,665 square foot middle school, designed according to current WCPSS Education specifications and design guidelines, expanded to include six (6) additional classrooms to support future growth. The building consists of a high bay core area with common spaces and a three-story classroom wing. A retaining wall is required at the east end of the core area to accommodate changes in site grades. The main floor of the core area is set at a full floor level above the ground floor area of the classroom wings. a. In the core area at the auditorium and PE spaces, all walls are load bearing masonry with a few structural steel columns to support long spans. In the remaining core area and classrooms wings, the building is steel frame structure. Foundation systems consists of concrete spread footings at column locations and strip foundations at the bearing wall locations. There will be some areas of aggregate piers where soil conditions warrant their use. b. The exterior wall system is brick veneer or CMU block with metal stud back up material. c. Theroofsystemisamodifiedbitumensystemovernewtaperedlightweightconcreteonlowslopestructural framing. d. Interior partitions consist of CMU or metal stud framing with gypsum wall board panels finish. The project contains a second 1,116 square foot building which includes toilets and storage to serve the athletic venues. The building is load bearing masonry construction with steel framed roof, with metal panels.
